The Double Food Pyramid

So everyone knows the classic USDA Food Pyramid. You're force fed it in grade school and see a poster of it in every pediatrician's waiting room.

Well the Barilla Center for Food Nutrition recently came out with the Double Food Pyramid. This infographic that compares what nutritional science recommends for human health and the environmental impacts of the food that we eat.

*Note that the nutrition side differs from that recommended by the USDA.
**Yup, it does equate red meat to be as unhealthy as sugar.

Food choices are responsible for 25% of each individual's environmental impact. Are you being conscious of the decisions that you make?
